It is my great privilege to serve as the principal of this exceptional school. At Washington, we are deeply committed to supporting every student and fostering a strong, connected Bulldog community. Our dedicated teachers and support staff work hard to provide meaningful learning experiences that promote academic excellence, cultivate a love for learning, strengthen social-emotional growth, and nurture the whole child.

One of our top priorities at Washington is accelerating student achievement. Our educators are passionate about building strong readers who can thrive across all subject areas. To achieve this, we continually reflect on and refine our instructional strategies to best meet the needs of every learner. We place a strong emphasis on foundational skills while also creating opportunities for collaboration, critical thinking, and authentic rigor that challenges and inspires our students. Our staff is highly skilled, dedicated, and driven by a shared belief in our students' potential. We hold high expectations for both academic growth and personal responsibility.

 

We also believe that student success is best supported through strong partnerships between school and home. Family and community engagement is not only welcomed — it’s vital. We encourage parents and caregivers to be involved by supporting learning at home, volunteering in classrooms, and joining our active Parent-Teacher Association (PTA). The events and activities led by our outstanding PTA help create lasting memories and strengthen bonds across the school community. You’re also invited to participate in Coffee with the Principal gatherings, the School Site Council, and our English Learners Advisory Group — all meaningful ways to stay involved and informed.

 

To stay connected, we ask that you keep an eye out for school news and updates shared via email, text, and our website. Every Sunday evening, we send out the Bulldog Bulletin, our weekly school newsletter, which is also posted online for easy access.
